Vertica Nets $16.5 Million Series B Financing

ANDOVER, MA -- Vertica reported that it received $16.5 million in its series B financing round and appointed Jerry Held, formerly Senior Vice President at Oracle, as its new chairman.

Vertica designs advanced database software for enterprises and government customers.  Co-leading the round was New Enterprise Associates and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and included previous investors Highland Capital Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners.

The company intends to use the proceeds to bring its products to market.  With this round, total investment in Vertica now stands at $23.5 million.
